Sunday 22nd February marked my second day in a row photographing at the stunning Wildes Inn and honestly, it felt less like work and more like a little solo retreat. As a Derbyshire wedding photographer, weekends like this are something I’ll never take for granted.

I had the absolute honour of capturing Larrisa & Jerome’s wedding day, and from start to finish, it was filled with warmth, energy, and unforgettable moments.

A Calm & Joyful Wedding Morning

The day began in the most perfect way. Walking into Larissa’s room, I was met with chilled R&B playing in the background, hair and makeup in full flow, and a calm, happy atmosphere that set the tone for everything that followed.

Everyone was relaxed, present, and fully in wedding mode, exactly what you hope for on the morning of such an important day. These quieter moments are where so many genuine emotions live, and they’re always a joy to capture.

THE SUN SHOWED UP ☀️

For a February wedding in the UK, this felt extra special. Natural light makes such a difference in photography, and having that golden winter sunshine meant we could create beautifully soft, glowing images throughout the day.

If you’re considering a winter wedding, this is your sign, you can absolutely have stunning light and a bright, joyful atmosphere, even in February.

Working as a Wedding Team

This wedding was also a first for me, working alongside both a videographer and a second shooter. And I have to say, it was a brilliant experience.

Everything felt seamless, supportive, and collaborative. Having a strong supplier team makes a huge difference to how smoothly a wedding day flows, and ultimately allows the couple to fully relax and enjoy every moment.

Once again, Wildes Inn proved to be a fantastic venue for wedding photography. The combination of elegant interiors and beautiful outdoor spaces offers so much versatility for capturing a full wedding story.

Despite being incredibly busy, the staff were outstanding, welcoming, attentive, and professional throughout the entire day. It’s always a pleasure working at a venue where the team genuinely care about the experience they create.

A Seamless Day Thanks to Expert Coordination

A special mention goes to Charlotte, the wedding coordinator, who was absolutely incredible once again. From keeping everything on schedule to ensuring every detail ran smoothly, her work behind the scenes made a huge impact on the day.

A Wedding Full of Energy & Personality

The energy from Larrisa & Jerome’s family and friends was unmatched.

  • The bridesmaids were absolute queens, helping organise group shots and fully embracing every idea.
  • The groomsmen were hilarious, respectful, and an absolute joy to be around.

Everyone brought such a fun, supportive atmosphere, which made capturing natural, candid moments effortless.





Natural Moments & Real Connection

What stood out most throughout the day was the connection between Larrisa & Jerome. Those quiet, in-between moments, the smiles, the glances, the way they naturally gravitated towards each other, were pure gold.

These are the moments that tell the real story of a wedding day, and they’re always my favourite to document.

A Sparkler Exit to Remember

The day ended with an incredible sparkler exit by the fountain, every guest involved, creating the most magical atmosphere.

And importantly… no casualties ✨🔥

After a full day of celebrating, I’d call that a definite success.

A Day That Never Felt Like Work

Weddings like this are the reason I love what I do. Being part of such an important day, surrounded by genuine people and real emotion, never feels like work.
