A Wholesome Winter Wedding at Dovecliff Hall Hotel | Siobhan & Liam’s Love Filled Day

My final wedding of the year could not have been more perfect. Siobhan and Liam chose the beautiful Dovecliff Hall Hotel in Derbyshire for their special day and it was everything a romantic winter wedding should be. Overflowing with emotion, personal touches, and the feeling of two families becoming one, their celebration was the perfect end to my favourite year in business so far.

As a Derbyshire wedding photographer, I’m lucky to witness the most heartfelt moments, and this wedding was full of them.

A Warm Welcome at Dovecliff Hall

From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement and love.

The groomsmen and best man greeted guests, helped everyone to their seats, and set the tone for a relaxed, welcoming celebration. It genuinely felt like one big family and I was made to feel like part of it too, not just the photographer capturing the day.

Dovecliff Hall Hotel, with its elegant rooms, beautiful grounds, and timeless charm, provided the perfect backdrop for their day. The soft winter light, grand interiors, and warm colour palette made every moment feel magical.

Personal Touches Inspired by Their Love Story

Siobhan and Liam met through gaming, so it was only right that their wedding included a few nods to the classics they love. Each reception table was named after a nostalgic game Tomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot, Pac-Man, Fallout and guests absolutely loved it. It was a fun, personal detail that truly reflected who they are.

And for me, as a huge Disney fan, one detail stole my heart:

their Mickey and Minnie cake toppers!

The top table even featured personalised Funko Pops of the bride and groom, a fun and unique touch that had everyone smiling.

Emotional Speeches and Beautiful Memories

The speeches throughout the day were a beautiful combination of emotional, funny, and heartwarming.

Grandad, who is deeply loved and missed, was remembered in so many thoughtful ways from robins to badges to necklaces keeping his presence close.

The bride’s mum’s speech also had everyone laughing and wiping away tears. Featuring old photos and stories from Siobhan’s childhood, it was a brilliant, heartfelt tribute that perfectly captured the fun, loving spirit of the bride.

The Perfect End to a Wonderful Wedding Season

This wedding was everything I love about being a photographer genuine connection, beautiful details, and a room full of people who adore each other. It was wholesome, joy filled, and overflowing with love.
